Each day, the Bbox team trolls YouTube for the hot clip—sometimes it's a brand-new moment and sometimes it's a throwback to an oldie but goodie. No matter what praise hands are shot up, pearls are clutched and the repeat button is hit.

Melancholy Man (Ryan Steele)

Ulterior Motives: A choreographer we are totally starstruck by, James Kinney, recently released a brand new short dance film Melancholy Man starring Ryan Steele. The triple threat so elegantly dances out the blues on a New York City rooftop to a Mel Torme cover of the On The Town tune "Lonely Town." It is so gorgeously filmed. Ryan starred in James Kinney's other recent critically acclaimed short film Anyone and is a phenomenal interpreter of Kinney's effortlessly theatrical style of dance.

Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: Ryan Steele has this gift of being able to totally glide through the music when he dances. His musicality is divine and when dancing choreography as musical as Kinney's it's a match made in heaven not taking a single lyrical moment for granted. Even the moment when he stands in stillness to the music! Can Ryan or James teach us that hat trick at 2:38? This film will take a rewatch as to not miss a single detailed step. One of our favorite moments is the thrilling choreography at 3:29 leading up to our favorite subtle yet delicate storytelling step at 4:02.
