Mamma Mia! Star Alan Campbell Shares His Four Favorite Spot…

Tony nominated Broadway actor Alan Campbell (Sunset Boulevard) is enjoying life in the Greek Islands by way of New York’s Broadhurst Theatre. Campbell currently stars as Sam Carmichael, one of the three potential dads, in the hit ABBA musical Mamma Mia! We caught up with Campbell between “Thank You For the Music” and “Knowing Me, Knowing You” to learn more about this New Yorker’s four favorite spots in the Big Apple.

Riverside Park on the Upper West Side

Riverside Park

“Having grown up in South Florida, I love the proximity to the water. Walking/running along the river reminds me that we live on an island! In summer, have a burger and watch the sun set at the 72 St pier.”

MoMA in Midtown

The MoMa

“I try to never miss a new exhibit. Sometimes just sitting in the sculpture garden and people watching is fun. Very international. And, of course, pick up something cool for my daughter in the museum store across the street. ”

Cafe Luxembourg on the Upper West Side

Cafe Luxembourg

“This has been a neighborhood staple of mine for 20 years. There’s always consistently good food, a friendly bar, and—being a bit of a Fracophile—I love the Paris bistro vibe. Sunday brunch for special occasions.”

SoHo (South of Houston)

Soho

“With its unique shopping, galleries and restaurants, I love to bring out-of-town guests to stroll around and spend an afternoon in SoHo. Pearl River Chinese Dept. Store is a treat. Also, note the beautifully preserved cast iron facades and architecture of many of the buildings.”
