February 19th of next year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Broadway opening night of "The NEW Gershwin musical" Crazy For You.

The tap-dancing, feel good, old fashioned, just swell musical boasted direction by the late Mike Ockrent and the sensational Susan Stroman choreographing. The marvelous musical included the popular standards "I Got Rhythm," "Someone To Watch Over To Me," "Embraceable You" - the score is an embarassment of riches. The 1992 musical starred the charming Harry Groener and divine Jodi Benson as Bobby and Polly.

A few years back, Manhattan Concert Productions celebrated a 25th anniversary concert revival with the amazing Tony Yazbeck and lovely Laura Osnes as Bobby and Polly. Harry Groener returned to this special anniversary production as Bela Zangler this time which also brought back Susan Stroman to choreograph and direct.

Show of hands, how many people have been in or attended a high school or community theatre production of this musical? The spectacular musical features a huge cast including over 10 leads! We'll be bidin' our time until a Broadway revival but until then - we have to shine a spotlight on high schools and community theatres who have done this show. There might even be some future Broadway stars in these clips, who knows!? Let's enjoy these clips of Crazy For You.
