#WakeUpNick

Let's take a moment to send positive energy, thoughts and well wishes to one of our talented Broadway stars, Nick Cordero and his family.

Broadway and national headlines have been reporting how Cordero has been valiantly fighting for his life due to his ongoing battle with COVID-19. After being admitted to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai hospital at the end of March, Cordero has been in a medically induced coma. On Saturday, April 18, a clotting issue in his right leg continued to persist after multiple surgeries and treatments to remedy the issue. To save his life, Cordero's right leg had been amputated. Cordero, still unconscious, continues to recover in the hospital.

The Tony nominee has appeared many times on Broadway originating roles like Earl in Waitress, Cheech in Bullets Over Broadway, and one of the ultimate tough guys Sonny in A Bronx Tale. In 2017, Nick appeared on our Broadway Unplugged series to sing an intimate, acoustic, jazzy rendition of "One of the Great Ones" from A Bronx Tale with his velvet voice.

As luck would have it, Nick is blessed with two extraordinary cheerleaders. His wife, superwoman sunbeam, Broadway's Amanda Kloots and their 10 month old son, Elvis (who has already picked up his dad's comic timing).

Kloots is an absolute ray of light during this storm. Kloots is known not only for having appeared on Broadway in Follies and Young Frankenstein but is a fitness inspiration in her own right with energetic workout programs AK! Rope, AK! Dance, AK! Body and more. She has been updating the public on Nick's condition daily as well as sharing stories of the two from finding their house in California to funny anecdotes all to keep the positive vibes constant.

We can help. A Go Fund Me page has been created to assist the family on medical bills and future rehabilitation. Even the smallest amount can assist this sweet family. To date, over 7,000 people have donated to the campaign. Please share the link on socials and with friends too if you are so inspired.

Every day at 6pm EST, Amanda has been suggesting blasting and singing along to Nick's first original song "Live Your Life." Share it on social with your friends with #wakeupnick
