Reason to Buy a Ticket Today: Cynthia Erivo. Beyond that this is probably the best sung musical on Broadway, The Color Purple with Cynthia Erivo’s Tony-winning debut performance as Celie is an event. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out on Broadway history.
