Five Broadway Ladies Who Could Lead the (Much-Needed) Aid...

Sixteen years ago today Elton John and Tim Rice’s beloved musical Aida opened on Broadway and theatre fans have been singing along ever since.

The show enjoyed a healthy four-year-run at the Palace Theatre (even though it wasn’t nominated for Best Musical!), but it’s been 12 cold years since it’s been on the boards and fans want it back! Joaquina Kalukango (Nettie in The Color Purple)

Saycon Sengbloh (Wife #1 in Eclipsed)

Felicia Boswell (Freda in Shuffle Along)

Sasha Allen (Hair, Pippin)

Syesha Mercado (The Book of Mormon)
