Ulterior Motives: Members of the original Broadway cast of Hairspray will be reuniting for MCC Theater's Miscast20 this Sunday September 13th! Tony Award nominee Laura Bell Bundy, Tony Award nominee Kerry Butler, Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, Jenn Gambatese, Emmy Award nominee Jackie Hoffman, Kamilah Marshall, Tony Award nominee Matthew Morrison, Tony Award nominee Corey Reynolds, Judine Somerville, Shayna Steele, and Tony Award winner Marissa Jaret Winokur will be part of this special virtual gala! There are many clips of Hairspray performances on the interwebs but this one threw us for a loop. The cast is singing in the aisles, Kamilah Marshall (who is one of the original three Dynamites) is Motormouth Maybelle, the audience has learned Jerry Mitchell choreo. We can't stop rewinding to find more gems from this clip.

Ultimate 🙌 🙌 moment: Honestly - we gasped In joy at 1:12 when the curtain opened and we saw Kamilah come out as Maybelle! She sounds fantastic at 1:26! Fans will also love Laura Bell Bundy's fierce belting 2:22 - 2:25 with all the foreshadowing and enthusiasm of Legally Blonde's Elle Woods during "What You Want." At 2:37, the audience choreo starts and it is just so sweet to see the audience look at each other to make sure they are doing the arm choreography properly. Our ultimate moment though is awarded to Dynamite Shayna Steele from 2:51 - 2:54 that bestows a gorge whistle tone riff to the proceedings.
