Unconditional Tickets

In Unconditional, nine New York stories converge in a racially and sexually charged tale of love, justice, rage and betrayal. Playwright Brett C. Leonard expands upon his theme to give a voice to characters who are ordinarily viewed as disenfranchised in this powerful play. LAByrinth Theatre Company presents this new work by Leonard after having staged his Guinea Pig Solo in 2004. The play, which will be presented in the round, is directed by Mark Wing-Davey.

Story for Unconditional

Nine New York stories converge in a racially and sexually charged tale of love, justice, rage and betrayal.

Brett C. Leonard's Guinea Pig Solo (LAByrinth, 2003) was described as "Sledge-hammer theater-gutsy, angst-ridden and unafraid" (Newsday), in which "Emotional depth is perfectly balanced by a tender intellectualism" (The New Yorker). Don't miss his incendiary new play, originally seen at our 2005 Barn Series festival of play readings. Nine New York stories converge in a racially and sexually charged tale of love, justice, rage and betrayal.

UNCONDITIONAL is directed by regular LAByrinth collaborator and OBIE Award winner Mark Wing-Davey, whose many credits include 36 Views at The Public (Lortel Award for Best Director), Henry V with Liev Schreiber, Angels in America, The Lights at Lincoln Center (seven Drama Desk nominations), the West End production of Bat Boy, and The Skriker, Owners, Light Shining in Buckinghamshire and Mad Forest, all by Caryl Churchill.
