Tickets at Vivian Beaumont Theater - Lincoln Center

The Vivian Beaumont Theater opened in 1965 and has been through several managements and periods of inactivity in following years. In 1985, Lincoln Center Theater acquired the venue and it has been under its operations ever since under the direction of André Bishop and Bernard Gersten.

In 1996 the theater underwent an $8 million renovation that improved its acoustics, increased handicap access and upgraded the building’s infrastructure.

Story for McNeal

Good writers borrow, great writers steal. Jacob McNeal is a great writer, one of our greatest, a perpetual candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature. But McNeal also has an estranged son, a new novel, old axes to grind and an unhealthy fascination with Artificial Intelligence. Pulitzer Prize-winner Ayad Akhtar’s new play is a startling and wickedly smart examination of the inescapable humanity – and increasing inhumanity – of the stories we tell.
