About Cinderella by Literally Alive on Broadway
Story for Cinderella by Literally Alive
This beautiful musical by Michael Sgouros & Brenda Bell based on the beloved classic fairy tale. Poor Cinderella, she works all day, has to deal with those awful step-sisters and then sleeps in the cinders. But, don't be too sad because Cinderella is one smart cookie. She'll make it to the Prince's ball and capture his heart. Sure, she may loose one of her shoes, but what she gains is worth more than gold!
In addition to the one hour musical, the audience receives a special treat - interactive arts workshops prior to the performance. Here the audience learns about the original book and how we turned it into a musical. We discuss the themes of the show and how the arts bring literature to life. Then the kids and their families make their own pumpkin carriage and magic wand to take home as a souvenir. Now when they watch the show, they are familiar with the art forms and themes represented in the production.
The whole program (pre-show workshop and actual show) is approximately 2 hours long. Pre-show arts workshop with playwright, composer, and actors from the cast begins 1 hour before the show. The workshop is included in the ticket price.
*Advisory: This show is appropriate for all ages. Recommended for ages 5 and older.
