Story for A Musical Journey to Taiwan
Chai Found Music Workshop, one of the most popular Taiwanese music ensembles, presents a new concert, Silk and Bamboo. Renowned for the musical form known as "Sizhu," a chamber style rooted in improvisation, the Workshop will perform selections ranging from Taiwanese and Hakka folksongs to the music of George Gershwin. They will also premiere a mutli-media piece with JACK Quartet, music by Gene Coleman - "Future City," a breathtaking portrait of a virtual city in a torrent in sound and images.
