Story for Widowers' Houses

Slum landlords. Sub-standard housing. Exorbitant rents. A lot has changed since 1892 in Shaw's piquantly funny debut play which tackles the crisis of conscience of a young man who comes face to face with the choice between his love and his ideals.

Written in 1892, Widowers' Houses is George Bernard Shaw's first play ever to be performed and it inspired Shaw to go on and create more then 60 plays including: PYGMALION, MRS. WARRENÕS PROFESSION, MAJOR BARBARA, HEARTBREAK HOUSE, CANDIDA, and MAN AND SUPERMAN.
