Tickets at John Golden Theatre

The John Golden Theatre opened in 1927 under its original name, The Theatre Masque. It was one of six theaters built by the Chanin Brothers and was designed by Herbert J. Krapp to house intimate plays. In 1937 it was renamed for the theatrical producer John Golden. The John Golden has since changed hands to The Shubert Organization. The venue has been most successful with small dramatic plays and one-man shows

Story for Seminar

In Seminar, four aspiring, young novelists sign up for private writing classes with Leonard (Alan Rickman), an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, sex is used as a weapon and hearts are unmoored. The wordplay is not the only thing that turns vicious as innocence collides with experience in this biting new comedy.

Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist and Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck (Mauritius, The Understudy, Omnium Gatherum, The Family of Mann, Spike Heels, NBC’s upcoming Smash), and directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, The Aliens, Tigers Be Still, Kin, The Coward), Broadway will mark the world premiere production of Seminar.

Cast Members: Alan Rickman, Hamish Linklater, Jerry O'Connell, Hettienne Park, Lily Rabe

Running Time: Approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission

Audience: May be inappropriate for 12 and under. (The show contains a brief moment of partial female nudity and some adult language that is likely not unfamiliar even to younger teenagers.)
