Peter and the Starcatcher is a theatrical, hilarious and innovative retelling of how a miserable orphan came to be The Boy Who Never Grew Up, just like the century old legend of Peter Pan. Peter and the Starcatcher is based on the book Peter and the Starcatchers.
Asapted on the best-selling Disney-Hyperion novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, based on the Peter and the Starcatcher book is directed by Tony Award® winner Roger Rees (Nicholas Nickleby) and Tony Award® nominee Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, The Pee-wee Herman Show) and written by Tony Award® nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys). A dozen brilliant actors play more than 100 unforgettable characters using their enormous talent, ingenious stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination.
The show which is based on the book Peter and the Starcathers features a company of twelve actors playing play more than 100 unforgettable characters who go through a journey in search for the question how did peter Pan become The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up.
Peter and the Starcatcher will be directed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers who directed the original staging of the show at the New York Theatre Workshop.
Peter and the Starcatcher will be produced on Broadway by Nancy Nagel Gibbs, Greg Schaffert, Eva Price, Tom Smedes and Disney Theatrical Productions.
Peter and the Starcatcher will star its original Off-Broadway cast, including Lucille Lortel Award winner Christian Borle as Black Stache, Tony Award nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger as Molly and Adam Chanler-Berat as Boy.Returning cast members also include Teddy Bergman (Seven Minutes in Heaven), Arnie Burton (The 39 Steps), Matt D'Amico (Fizz), Kevin Del Aguila (Jacques Brel...), Carson Elrod (Reckless), Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) and David Rossmer (Don't Quit Your Night Job). Tony nominee Borle (Legally Blonde) plays composer Tom Leavitt on NBC's "Smash"; Keenan-Bolger (playing the title character) is Mary in the Encores! concert of Merrily We Roll Along; Chanler-Berat was in Off-Broadway's Rent and Broadway's Next to Normal.
Peter and the Starcatcher. based on the book Peter and the Starcatcher will begin performances at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on March 28, 2012. The show will open officially on April 15, 2012.
