This December, MUMMENSCHANZ returns to the NYU SKIRBALL CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS for a limited 4 week engagement to celebrate its 40th anniversary. This special stop in New York City is part of a larger worldwide tour. Recommended for ages 6 and up, this two-hour show (with intermission) will be a combination of stunning new elements alongside some of the company's most beloved creations and favorite fantastical characters.
Audiences of all ages and cultures are enchanted by the surreal, comic, wordless universe of MUMMENSCHANZ, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, when common materials – such as wires, tubes, boxes, and even toilet paper – all spring to life as fantastical characters. Abstract shapes and forms also interact in surprising ways to reveal some timeless truths about human connections and relationships. The result is a wonder-filled, visually stunning spectacle and family entertainment that sparks the imagination and transcends cultural barriers.
