Story for Three Sisters
Blueprint Productions presents CHEKHOV + TURGENEV
Two plays about love, not war. Performed in repertory, scored in jazz.
Featuring a live jazz quartet nightly. Three Sisters, a sparkling new adaptation of the play by Anton Chekhov and About Love, a musical play with songs, inspired by Ivan Turgenev’s novella, “First Love”.
THREE SISTERS
In Chekhov’s masterpiece, Olga, Masha and Irina are talented, cultured young women who were raised in urban Moscow, but have been living in a small provincial town for eleven years. Within these less than vibrant surroundings, each pursues her dreams and passions amongst the soldiers garrisoned there, all the while yearning for a return to Moscow.
In this new, sparkling adaptation, Will Pomerantz (who also directs) takes us into the soul of this great play, celebrating Chekhov’s unparalleled ability to bring to life the surprisingly close proximity of the joy, absurdity, sadness, and yearning that makes us all human. Featuring an original score by Nancy Harrow and played onstage by live musicians, as well as a remarkable cast of actors, this new version promises to surprise and delight.
