Story for The Persians

Once again, after four triumphant engagements at New York City Center, the National Theatre of Greece returns for a six-performance run of Aeschylus' The Persians from Sept. 16 thru 20. It is performed in Greek with English supertitles. The world famous National Theatre is the most important exponent of Greek drama in the world, and for this important new production, the great actress Lydia Koniordou heads the cast and directs the play that heralds the only Greek drama that is based on historic fact: the playwright himself took part in the great battle.
