Tickets at Studio 54

Studio 54 was built in 1927 as The Gallo and was intended to house opera productions. It was the first of multiple names given to the theater, some of which include the legitimate theater The New Yorker and a dinner theater Casino de Paree. The venue is probably best known for its incarnation as a world-famous disco in the 1970s.

In 1998, The Roundabout Theatre Company returned Studio 54 back to a legitimate theater with the multiple Tony Award-winning show Cabaret.

Story for The People in the Picture

Two time Tony® Award-winner Donna Murphy (Passion, The King and I) stars in The People in the Picture, directed by Leonard Foglia. This new Broadway musical features book & lyrics by the author of the international best seller Beaches, Iris Rainer Dart, and a glorious score by Mike Stoller (Smokey Joe's Café) and Artie Butler.

Once the darling of the Yiddish Theatre in pre-war Poland, now a grandmother in New York City, Bubbie (Murphy) has had quite a life. But what will it all mean if she can't pass on her stories to the next generation? Though her granddaughter is enchanted by her tales, her daughter Red will do anything to keep from looking back. A fiercely funny and deeply moving new musical that spans three generations, The People in the Picture celebrates the importance of learning from our past, and the power of laughter.
