About The Book of Everthing on Broadway
Story for The Book of Everthing
The New Victory Theater presents Belvoir and Kim Carpenter’s Theatre of Image, The Book of Everything directed by Neil Armfield. When we meet Thomas Klopper aged 9 (nearly 10), it is Summer in Amsterdam, Holland, Europe, Northern Hemisphere, Earth, Solar System, Galaxy, Universe, Space. And the year is 1951. Thomas can see things that nobody else sees, and he writes them all down in his notebook, 'The Book of Everything.' Guus Kuijer's acclaimed children's novel comes to life in a kaleidoscope of big images and bigger ideas, as Thomas learns that, despite his complicated and sometimes violent home life, he is responsible for his own happiness.
Overflowing with both humor and hope, THE BOOK OF EVERYTHING is "more than a children's production, it is an important, powerful, significant and magical piece of theater that everybody should see. Make sure that you are one of them." - Glam Adelaide
"If you have kids, take them to see The Book of Everything. If you don't, see it anyway. It's a gem of a show." – The Sydney Morning Herald
Performance Tiem: 2 hours, 10 minutes including one intermission.
April 20 - April 29, 2012
