Story for Paul Taylor Dance Company

The Paul Taylor Dance Company returns to City Center with a stellar repertoire including many of Paul Taylor’s “greatest hits” – Airs, Company B, Dante Variations, Esplanade, Piazzolla Caldera, Promethean Fire, Roses and Sunset – along with such fascinating revivals as Book of Beasts, Piece Period and Profiles. Also on the bill are the searing anti-war declaration, Banquet of Vultures, and two premieres: Lines of Loss, with a score spanning seven centuries, recorded by the Kronos Quartet, and the wickedly funny Troilus and Cressida (reduced), hailed by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette as “a Marx Brothers romp.” This year you can see mid-week shows at the new early curtain time of 7pm. You know Paul Taylor from the riveting Oscar-nominated documentary, "Dancemaker". Now experience the Company the New York Observer says is “now the best New York has to offer in dance,” and see why Vanity Fair calls Taylor “the greatest choreographer in the world.”
