Review Submission Guidlines
Now is your chance to have your opinion heard! Did you a see a show and love it? Do you want others to know why a particular show is a cut above the rest? Then post your personal review on BroadwayBox.com. But first, read the Do’s and Don’ts of BroadwayBox reviews. (Note: the below rules apply to sports, concert, attraction and hotel reviews as well.*)
Do
Express your own opinion about a show. Don’t steal or quote from other sources, published theater reviews or the Twitterverse.
Yes, sometimes a Broadway show may use adult language in the play, but there’s no reason you have to use it in your review. So no profanity, threats, prejudiced comments, hate speech or other non-family-friendly content.
Tell us about why you really enjoyed this particular Broadway or off-Broadway show (the actors, the sets, the music, etc).
While all of the internet eagerly awaits your opinion, no one wants to read your dissertation. Keep the reviews light, breezy and short.
Don't
We love Broadway and clearly you love Broadway, so let’s spread the love in these reviews. While there is room for criticism, bashing a show on BroadwayBox is not acceptable. You can tweet your negative opinions or write an open letter to The New York Times, but don’t leave them here.
BroadwayBox does not post reviews with self-promoting content, URLS, web addresses or emails. Also, no reviews from people involved in the production; this is a forum for the theatergoing community to interact and post their positive opinions.
Let’s stick to standard email etiquette, shall we? No ALL CAPS or html tags. Also, please note that most text and paragraph formatting, including lists, will not appear in user reviews.
Additional
All reviews must be posted with valid email addresses. No fake email addresses please; addresses are verified before posting. Depending on the amount of reviews submitted it could take some time before your review is posted. We may need to contact you if there is a problem with your review. BroadwayBox values your privacy - please read our privacy policy.
We allow one review per person on any given subject. No repeated reviews of the same subject by the same reviewer. If you'd like to update a review, please contact us, and we'll remove your previous review and alert you when you can submit a new one.
The opinions expressed are those of BroadwayBox members and not of BroadwayBox.com or BroadwayBox, Inc. We do not endorse nor are we affiliated with any show, event or attraction listed or reviewed on this web site. BroadwayBox.com reserves the right to remove or withhold a review for any reason.
*All the above rules apply to sports, concerts, attractions and hotel reviews as well. Now read them all again and substitute what you're writing about for the words Broadway, theater, production or show. Got it? Good!
