About Ryder Cup:

The Ryder Cup is a golf competition, initiated by Samuel Ryder, between teams from Europe and the United States. It takes place at Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville, Kentucky. The Matches are jointly administered by the PGA of America and the PGA European Tour. The first official competition took place in 1927 between a team representing American professionals against a similar one representing the British PGA on the East Course, Wentworth Club, Virginia Water, Surrey, UK. In 1979, The British team was extended, adding player from Spain, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and Sweden.
