Widespread Panic are an American blues-inspired rock band. The band was formed in Georgia in 1986. Widespread Panic are influenced by southern rock, blues-rock, progressive rock, funk and hard rock, and are frequently compared to bands such as "Grateful Dead" and "Phish". The band's first album, "Space Wrangler", was released in 1988. In 1991, after signing with Capricorn Records, the band released its major label debut, Widespread Panic.
