Whitney Houston is an American singer and actress. Her debut album, "Whitney Houston", was released in 1985. In 1992, Houston appeared in the film "The Bodyguard". The film's soundtrack won the 1994 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and its lead single, "I Will Always Love You", is one of the best-selling singles in the history of music. Her new album, "I Look To You", was released in 2009, and entered Billboard 200 at no.1. After selling 305,000 copies in one week, it has become Houston's first number one album since "The Bodyguard".

Over the years, Houston has influenced the music industry with her vocal stylings, and has inspired many singers. She was listed by "Rolling Stone" as one of the 100 greatest singers of the rock era.
