About John Prine:

John Prine is an American country-folk singer-songwriter. After being an active character in the Chicago folk scene, he was discovered by Kris Kristofferson, and released his debut album in 1971. In 2005, Prine released his album 'Fair & Square', with songs such as "Safety Joe" and "Some Humans Ain't Human". The album won the 2006 Grammy-Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album.
