Australia’s Circa is world-renowned for its unique artistry—a distinctly 21st century circus that incorporates contemporary dance and even performance art as well as virtuosic acrobatics, and discards most of the trappings of traditional circus in favor of unmediated, emotionally rich choreography. Under the artistic direction of Yaron Lifschitz, the ensemble creates innovative, genre-bending pieces that celebrate the expressive possibilities of the human body at its extremes.
