The Flick Broadway:
The Flick plays at Playwrights Horizons/Mainstage Theatre
416 West 42nd St, New York, NY 10036
Seating chart & directions
In a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, three underpaid employees mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35 millimeter film projectors in the state. Their tiny battles and not-so-tiny heartbreaks play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen. With keen insight and a finely-tuned comic eye, The Flick is a hilarious and heart-rending cry for authenticity in a fast-changing world.
The cast of The Flick features Alex Hanna (Off-Broadway debut), Louisa Krause (the film Martha Marcy May Marlene), Obie Award winner Matthew Maher (Golden Child, Uncle Vanya at Soho Rep), and Aaron Clifton Moten (A Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway).
Obie Award winner Annie Baker is the author of Circle Mirror Transformation (Playwrights Horizons), The Aliens, Body Awareness, and her adaptation of Uncle Vanya.
Obie Award winning director Sam Gold returns to PH following his productions of The Big Meal, Kin, and Circle Mirror Transformation. He is currently represented on Broadway by the revival of Picnic.
