Story for The Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side

An extraordinary gathering of young idealists live above a vegan restaurant in NYC. Billy, Dawn, Dear and Wyatt are an extended sexual family battling their fears and addictions in order to live their utopian dream. The Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side is a celebration of love and the search for human grandness, and what happens when bohemian paradise begins to crumble. Come experience the show that put the Amoralists on the downtown map and was the prequel to this summer's smash hit The Bad and the Better.

With a cast of Amoralists ensemble members: Matthew Pilieci, James Kautz, Sarah Lemp, Katie Broad, Nick Lawson, and Derek Ahonen. The design/production team consists of Kelcie Beene (Producer), Form Theatricals (Anthony Francavilla and Zachary Laks) (Producer), Al Schatz (Set Design), Jeremy Pape (Lighting Design), Ricky Lang (Costume Design), Bart Lucas (Sound Design), Sean Bauer (Technical Director), Caroline Hendrix (Communications Director), Seena Hodges (Marketing Director), Kelley Swindall (Assistant Director) and Judy Merrick (Stage Manager).

The Pied Pipers of the Lower East Side debuted at the Gene Frankel Theater on November 2, 2007, and was one of the first shows produced by The Amoralists. Since then, its 4 incarnations have played to thousands of audience members.

The Amoralists (founded by Derek Ahonen, James Kautz, and Matthew Pilieci) is a theatre company that produces work with no moral judgment by new and emerging playwrights. Dedicated to an honest expression of the American condition, their artist-driven ensemble explores complex characters of moral ambiguity. Rollicking, rebellious and raw, their work will go home with you.
