Based on the bestselling book Stars of David: Prominent Jews Talk About Being Jewish by Abigail Pogrebin, the new musical Stars of David adapts the stories of well known Jewish personalities into humorous and touching songs. Among the personalities celebrated are Joan Rivers, Aaron Sorkin, Andy Cohen, Goria Steinem, Kenneth Cole, Fran Drescher and more.
The stars' stories have been adapted into amusing and often moving songs by award-winning writers such as Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line), Marilyn & Alan Bergman (Yentl), Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof), Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater (Spring Awakening), Jeanine Tesori (Caroline, Or Change), Richard Maltby & David Shire (Closer Than Ever), Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and Michael Friedman (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson).
