Story for Opera: La Forza del Destino
La Forza del Destino ("The Force of Destiny") is known for its exciting overture and some of Giuseppe Verdi's most emotional arias and memorable choruses. Spanning several years and two countries (Italy and Spain), Forza tells the story of Leonora and her lover, Don Alvaro, who accidentally kills her father. Bad luck follows the couple as Leonora's brother swears to avenge their father's death. With a rapturous voice that is ideal for Verdi's romantic melodies, Deborah Voigt shines as Leonora, caught in the inescapable "Force of Destiny".
