Definition of Jewish

Not That Jewish is a one-woman show starring Monica Piper. In her 90-minute performance she takes the audience through her life and the influence her father and supportive mother had on her as a comedian even as they appeared in a living room act in their Bronx apartment. She goes on to describe her two failed marriages and her adoption of a son when she was 41 from a 19-year-old with a three-month-old baby girl who found herself pregnant by an itinerant construction worker. The play explores the question of what it means to be Jewish and have a Jewish heart whether or not one attends synagogue regularly. It is both a poignant and funny look into this Emmy-winning actor’s life and values. She concludes with you do not have to be Jewish to have a Jewish heart.

Great Entertainment

My husband and I enjoyed watching a great performance by a great comedian who shares her life moments in a very humorous way. It was an uplifting and meaningful theater experience with an underlining message that humor can see you through anything.
