Terrence McNally’s award-winning play about Maria Callas (played by Tony and Emmy Award winner Tyne Daly) takes us to one of her famous master classes, where, late in her own career, she dares the next generation to make the same sacrifices and rise to the same heights that made her the most celebrated, the most reviled and the most controversial singer of her time.
Tony Award® and six-time Emmy® Award winner Tyne Daly, of MTC’s Rabbit Hole, Gypsy and “Cagney & Lacey,” takes on the legendary opera diva drawn by McNally, whose other work at MTC includes Love! Valour! Compassion!, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, A Perfect Ganesh and Lips Together, Teeth Apart. This new production is directed by Stephen Wadsworth (the Met's Boris Godunov, Iphigénie en Tauride and Rodelinda).
Master Class also stars Sierra Boggess, Clinton Brandhagen, Jeremy Cohen, Alexandra Silber and Garrett Sorenson.
