This New York Premiere by Emma Donoghue, author of the best-selling novel, ROOM, retells classic fairy tales: monsters, kings, queens, princes, princesses, magic and, of course, witches are conjured up before your eyes by four actors, who play all the parts. The show includes live music.
Folding Chair Classical Theatre Presents Kissing The Witch, old tales in new skins, by the best-selling author of
Room. Five fairy tales are wrapped in new skins, with four actors playing multiple parts and original music performed live, on stage. Beauty discovers that the Beast behind the mask is not so very different from the face she sees in the mirror; a fishergirl trades her voice for the man of her dreams, only to learn that some dreams are nightmares; a pauper trades places with a princess, finding the crown weighs heavily on her head. In these tales, women, young and old, tell their own stories of love and hate, honor and revenge, passion and deception.
