Story for The Killing of Sister George
Sister George has a secret. As the gentle, kind-hearted nurse on a popular British soap opera, everyone loves her. But the actress who plays her (June Buckridge) is an abusive, cigar-chomping, gin-swilling lesbian. When gossip begins to swirl about the personal habits of the actress, BBC executives decide to kill off the beloved character, unleashing June’s true brutality. In this 1964 shockingly dark comedy, perception is everything, and no one is what they seem.
