About Hamlet on Broadway
Story for Hamlet
No Flash. All Substance.
"A father killed, a mother stained, and let all sleep?" These are the unfortunate circumstances in which Hamlet, prince of Denmark, suddenly finds himself.
This new production of William Shakespeare's epic masterpiece updates the setting and strips the play down to its most basic elements, featuring Kyle Knauf in the title role (NYIT Award winning production of Charles Mee's Fetes De La Nuit, the Flea Theater's Obie Award winning production of Benten Kozo), a set design by Jiin Choi, costumes designed by Ilana Breitman, and a lighting design by the team of Timothy Parrish and Lauren Stetson.
With a supporting cast including Justin R.G. Holcomb, Kathryn Neville Browne, Kim Sullivan, Ian Gould, Britannie Bond, Daniel Levitt, and Angus Hepburn--under the direction of John William Schiffbauer (Classic Stage Company, The Pearl Theatre Company, The Shakespeare Theatre Company, and Nebraska Shakespeare Festival)--this is a New York City summer Shakespeare experience not to be missed!
