THE MOST WONDERFUL WICKED SHOW ON STAGE Review by: lisapy1132, Oct 6, 2006 |
This is the most amazing, spinetingling, goosebumping, heart wrenching, diaphram singing, wonderful dancing, passion and sadness, laughter and lunacy production you will ever see!
I loved it from start to finish and I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would ever start to sympathise with the Wicked Witch of the West when I saw The Wizard of Oz on DVD after seeing the show. A mindblowing production where every cast member gives ... read more 500% and leaves you cheering for more. Forget a standing ovation, we all wanted to raise the roof and fly off on broomsticks! Bravo indeed and I wish I could go back for more. SEE THIS SHOW AND TAKE EVERYONE YOU KNOW! |

| i thought the show was boring and none of the songs were that great. if your going to a london show go to a cameron mackintosh or andrew llyod webber, lucky i had free tickets otherwise i would have wasted my money. couldnt wait for it to be over. ive seen over 25 top shows and this is the worse ever. |

"Wicked" is Worth the Trip! Review by: , Sep 30, 2006 |
I also traveled from Atlanta to London to see Wicked, as it is my favorite musical and I wanted to see Idina perform as Elphaba. It was worth the trip. The other cast members were great as well. Wicked is just as good the 1st time as each succeeding opportunity. Go see it. You will love every minute.
We were stage door groupies (a 1st for me) and Ms. Dallimore was charming in signing autographs. Idina was a bit less -- probably old ... read more hat for her. |

West End is developing for the better! Review by: Richie, Sep 29, 2006 |
This person above is a saint! I agree completely, i was there on press night as well and currently training in Musical Theatre. It was amazing, easily one of the best things i've ever seen on West End! Music Theatre is developing, and critics seem to not like that becuase they think its becoming too "Ditsy" and "vulgar"(Avenue Q). Its a rough representation of life, but portrayed with superb entertainment values. Wicked and ... read more Avenue Q are the two best things to hit West End in ages due to there high quality sheer excellence! Anyone can and should watch Wicked, please please don't listen to the snotty nosed old fashioned critics. This musical is one of the best things to happen to West End in ages! We're very slowly rising to the starndard of Broadway....more of the same please!
Richard Maxted
P.s. Avenue Q is also a must watch! This is not an overstatement, most things on West End at the moment are very low quality. |

Wickedly Awesome Review by: , Sep 28, 2006 |
| This show is beyond incredible! Please don't listen to the critics in London because none of them are very smart and they're just trying to find problems with it! It's perfect! It's funny, sweet, exciting, adventurous, though-provoking, sometimes a bit scary (a good kind though!) and all over incredible! Idina Menzel is one of the most talented actresses in the world, and I'm sure Helen Dallimore is too! The music is definitely one ... read more of the highlights, as well as the sets! The music is soaring and exhilarting, beautiful and powerful, and the lyrics are witty and thoughtful! The best moment in the show (which was hard for me to decide because there are so many) is at the end of Act 1, "Defying Gravity". See it now because it's already booked in advance for ages! |

DON'T CONSIDER GOING... JUST GO!! Review by: Joey, Sep 23, 2006 |
This show is just beyond AMAZING! I usually go to musical's once every two or three weeks, so yes, I have seen almost all that the West End has to offer. But WICKED has just surpassed all my expectations and has become my favourite musical of all time.
See it, then see it again, and again!
I went on Thursday 21st September, and have just bought tickets to go again in 3 weeks time, I cannot wait! |

Love the show, Idina Menzel is incredible Review by: seen it 5 times (twice in London), Sep 18, 2006 |
| I traveled all the way from Atlanta to see the show. It is one of my favorite musicals and well worth the trip because of Idina Menzel. She truly steals the show and will leave you breathless after every song she sings. However, I believe that Helen Dalliomre does not pull off the role of Glinda very well. She has her moments but she did not seem to capture the humerous side of Glinda. I laughed much more with KEndra Kassenbaum and Kristen ... read more Chenowith. Miriam Margoyles and Nigel Planer do a superb job. Adam Garcia pulls off the singing roles pretty well but seems to lack conviction while delivering some of his lines. Having said this, I still highly recommend the show. The music is very powerful and the story leaves you with a lot to think about and there is much to be learned from the two witches. |

Tell your friends about Wicked and you will be POPULAR! Review by: I'm not that boy, Sep 18, 2006 |
Second only to Les Miserables as the best musical I've seen. Songs to make you cry, performances to move you and make you struggle to imagine anyone playing the roles better. Clever plot containing much emotional truth and believable journeys for all the characters and subtle weaving in and out of the Wizard of Oz story as well as the audience's knowledge of the original. How can anyone watch the Wizard of Oz in the same way after ... read more seeing this?
Big setpieces, showstopper numbers with great sets, costumes, dancing. How much did it cost to produce? Cheap at half the price! Take everyone you know, all ages, and sit back and gloat because you saw it first and they will all love it. How could they not? |

Don't Underestimate How Special This Is! Review by: Boq, Sep 17, 2006 |
| We've waited a long time but its here and you wont be disappointed. The show is buzzing - you are aware from the second you enter the beautifully refurbished Appollo that you are in for a night in a million. People cheered when the lights went down and never stopped. It was everything we dreamed it would be and more - in some ways even better than the broadway production. One reason - Idina Menzel. The cast is superb but Menzel is consummately ... read more professional and with a voice the West End has been waiting for. This is once in a lifetime stuff -kill for a ticket AND DON'T WAIT. Musicals of this calibre don't come along very often - enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!! |

WICKEDLY GOOD! Review by: Joan Wood, Sep 14, 2006 |
| I initially saw the show on Broadway two years ago and I must admit - I even enjoyed it MORE the second time round! It is a fantastic night out and just what musical theatre should be - great sets, costumes, , wonderful singing and acting and an extremely clever script giving one the "other side" of the story of the Wizard of Oz. One of the best musicals of all time and the definitive representative of the "musical" in the first decade of this ... read more century. It's fantabulatios!! Very highly recommended! |

Wicked is Wicked! Review by: yeahman!, Sep 13, 2006 |
The best show i've ever seen. You've got to see it. The effects are excellent. The story is set on the "wizard of Oz" but with a completely new twist. In this play the wicked witch is the one in the center. Dorothy barely appears. I left the theatre feeling good!

Wicked - See It NOW, before it gets fully booked Review by: Charles M, Sep 9, 2006 |
Wicked! The Untold Story Of The Witches Of Oz, this musical is fairly unknown in the UK, but this is set to change, once Wicked opens officialy in mid-late September, the show will be a household name. Breaking all Broadway records the show is set to smash all British records as well! Review: September 7th 2006 The set is fantastic, making full use of all the theatre, and every possible technical advance, leaves Wicked already ahead ... read more of any show in the West End. Book & Music - Catch, fantastic beautiful, you will laugh and cry, but leave feeling fulfilled, beautifully written and twisted around the story of the Wizard Of Oz. Cast- these are the true stars, Idina Menzel, Tony Award Winner takes the lead of Elphaba, absolutely stunning!!! the rest of the cast deserve equal praise also!!!!
I would highly recommend this musical to any demographic as it is guaranteed to please!
Defying Gravity, where Elphaba levitates to the top of the auditorium is stunning! and truly the highlight of this amazing show!!!!! |
