| I saw this with my four boys(ages 6,11,13,13)husband,and inlaws(70yrs) . We all loved the play. It is still a great story and the set and production was tops. We have seen several plays and musicals and this was our favorite! Don't miss it. My 6yr.old is still singing the songs 2 weeks later. |

I was really looking forward to seeing this but it didn't live up to my expectations. The music, although in most cases, the same or similar to the film in most cases had different lyrics which were nowhere nearly as 'catchy' as the original.
Bert played by Gavin Creel didn't do it for me he seemed to lack personality, in the film he was larger than life but in the show he didn't have stage presence. I don't know whether this was the ... read more actor or the role which may have been written this way. Equally Mr Banks, played by Aden Gillet didn't seem right for the role.
The dance routines that accompanied Supercalifragilistic and Step in time were impressive and together with Mary pulling various items from her magic carpet bag great to watch.
There was one very scene involving the nursery toys coming to life and 'punishing' Jane and Michael for being naughty which may scare younger viewers.
The scenery was very good and Mary Poppins flying around was very impressive as was Bert doing a 360 degree dance routine to step in time.
If I could only go to one show, it wouldn't be this one and if my daughter could choose one show she said that there are many others which she would choose such as The Lion King.

| I saw Mary Poppins a few weeks ago. It was very good. My favourite bit was when they sang 'step in time' on the roof tops, if you have watched it you will know why. Definitely go and watch it, it isn't just for kids. Mary Poppins even flys across they theatre. Although it is very different than the film, it more based on the books. Recommended. |
