Review by: Shuven, Dec 15, 2011 |
| Went to see the show on Dec. 10th. Despite terrible seats at upper circle, we enjoyed the show very much. This is musical that does not just entertains, it touches. Ramin plays a good Valjean, moving and powerful, almost a replicate of Colm Wilkinson, yet has technical problem at certain points like "take my flight" and 24601. He seemed exhausted after the show. Maybe Marius is too heavy to carry?... I love Hadley Fraser's Javert. Very beautiful ... read more voice he has and some say his perfomance is quite improved, yet he might be a bit too slim for this role...||| |

Not good at all this time! Review by: Chrissyuk1957, Nov 22, 2010 |
| Went to see Les Mis two years ago and it was absolutely fantastic, this being the reason for the return visit this weekend (19/11/10). This year's performance was lack lustre, as if they were going through the motions, with no feeling at all. We had front row dress circle tickets , and apart from the good seats this was a very dull event. We also found it unusual that the main performers names were given out at the beginning ... read more of the performance, so, maybe they were the understudies? If anyone can enlighten me I'd appreciate it? I was thinking of writing to the Theatre for an explanation. |

My No. 1 Musical of all time Review by: Linda from Scotland, Oct 22, 2010 |
| In London for 2 days - saw this on the second night. Absolutely first class performance. Have now seen this twice (first time in Edinburgh). Am a great fan of musicals and love them all, but this one is the tops. First class. My all-time favourite. |

Les Mis in London Review by: , Sep 8, 2010 |
Les Mis was absolutely amazing! I went with my godfather Sept. 2, and was completely blown away by the performance. getting all of the different aspects of that show probably took about as long as it too the entire crew to memorize all of their parts perfectly, or for all of the costumes to be made. At times the person I was with had to remind me that I was not actually part of the production, as I kept leaning over the railing and lettin my ... read more mouth hang open. I LOVED the paring of Madame and Monsieur Thornadier, the large waspish woman and her skinny drunk of a husband. I thought that Gavroche's show of complete impertinence that you would find in teenagers and children his age was completely hilarious, and missed it after he was shot. He also had an amazing voice. I never really got his age, but I'm guessing that he was maybe ten or eleven, and to have such a voice at such a young age... wow. Before the piece even began, I was a little sceptic about how they were going to show how Fontine went farther and farther down the line of peasantry, selling her heir, her clothing and jewelry, and finally her body too. I don't know who came up with the song lovely ladies and the sailors at the beginning, but I hope that they write another one. All in all, I really think that if possible, everyone should see this! |

Amazing! Breathtaking! Review by: hillbilly5, Mar 24, 2010 |
| My husband and I went to see this show for our Wedding Anniversary present. Sat 2 rows from the front. I can honestly say this was head and shoulders above anything that we have ever seen before. The acting was amazing, scenery very innovative and the way that everything took place on the revolving stage was an art in itself. Very emmotive - I'm not one to show my emotions publicly but nearly lost it and cried right at the end. Everyone should ... read more see this show! I would highly recommend it. |

We laughed - and unusually I cried at the closing scene. Encor Review by: Griph, Jan 9, 2010 |
We last saw LesMis at the Palace Theatre in the late 80's - and I treated my wife to premium stalls today as part of our Christmas presents. What struck us immediately was the evolution of the stage production since we originally saw it. Wow - much more movement and action - particularly liked the use of light, smoke and the turntable to add to the minimal scenery to cast a dramatic scene throughout. Wonderful - ... read more we laughed - and unusually I cried at the closing scene. Encore! I noted the review by the lady who went with a group and some complained it was too long and too sad! The mind boggles - Paris in the Early 19th century was (in common with many cities) a brutal place to be if you were poor. Of course it was sad!!! But the humour in it goes a long way to balancing the story, and as for length - the time just flew by and the end came more quickly that I would have expected. I guess you cant please everyone all of the time. |

| I went to the Queens Theater in London on October 7th with a group of 30 people. A few said it was too long and too sad, but I absolutely loved it. The actors and actresses did wonderful with everything. The director certainly picked the most perfect people for each part. Nancy Sullivan as Eponine was my favorite. If I were to try out for Les Mis, that would be the part I want. |

Fabulous Show! Loved every Minute! Especially appreciated the performances of Cassandra Compton, and the Javert character. Young Cast. Fresh Voices. The musical score is exact and hert-wrenchingly beautiful. Sat on the right side of the Upper Circle. rather high up but had a wonderful view. |

This show is brilliant, beautiful, touching and memorable....Go see it! Review by: Liz C, Sep 13, 2006 |
The best part of this musical about the French Revolution is the brilliant musical score. The moving and memorable songs like "Do you hear the people Sing?"" On my Own"" A Little fall of Rain" and "Castle on a cloud" have a timeless quality. The plot is also interesting, with the story of an escaped convict, who is a good man at heart, trying to rebuild his life, with the French Revolution in the background. It includes love affairs and the ... read more conflict between the escaped man and the policeman who is trying to catch him. However, the best moments are those in which the music and the plot meet and really touch your heart. In Les Miserable this happens numerous times and you will definitely go home thinking about the story. It is not surprising that the show will soon celebrate its 21st birthday. I think it has universal appeal(I read in the program it has been translated into many languages and performed even in Japan). Must See! |
