You should have seen it..... Review by: Alison, Jul 28, 2008 |
I saw Gone With The Wind twice in the short time it was on. The first time I liked it very much but it was long and some of the scenes were unnecessary. For example - the birth of Melanies baby and Melanie's death bed scene where she burst into song - silly! The second time around was 2 nights before it closed. It was wonderful. The show had been shortened and thankfully the silly scenes had been cut. Darious was just quite simply ... read more fantastic. Jill Paice was wonderful. The 'slaves' had the most beautiful singing voices. All in all it was brilliant, I loved it. And frankly my dears I really do give a damn that it has closed, perhaps they will think about it tomorrow, because after all, tomorrow is another day!! A G, Ilford, Essex. |

| I wasn't sure if I wanted to see this or not, since it was so new and reviews were not that great. Our group decided that we wanted to give it a try. Time passed really quickly in the production. They had no choice, because there was so much material to cover. I loved the southern accents, since I come from the South. It was easy to get into Scarlett, and a little harder to get into Rhett. He was taller and lankier than Clark Gable,... read more, but his make-up was really done well. I became a fan of this actor before it was over. Mammy & Prissy were great! I'm glad I saw it! |
