DADDY COOL!!!!
Fantastic! The best show I have seen in along time. Left you singing and wanting more. Would reccomend this to everyone especially younger audiences. I went with five mates and all of us enjoyed it and we would definetly go see it again!! |

For people trying to compare this to shows such as Les Miserables, or similar - stop right there. This is in no way like that, so I suggest that if you like musicals like that, don't come and see this. You'll be missing out, but you won't like it.

I've never heard Boney M music before, but I came away from the show ... read more loving all the songs from it, and can't wait until there is a cast album to enjoy them all over again.
The acting is amazing, and the singing is the most fantastic thing I have heard all year. The only criticism I can think of is how they are pushing Javine, Harvey, and Michelle Collins, as if they are the lead, when they clearly aren't. When Harvey had an understudy one night, I barely missed him, and it took me until about halfway through the show to realise he wasn't there.
I've seen two people playing the female lead - Helen Kurup, and Camilla Beeput, and they're both so so good, and definietly a reason to make sure you don't miss it.
There's been a few script changes to the show since the opening night, so that's proof in itself they know what works and what doesn't work, and will continue to improve it. Here's hoping the show runs for a long long time. |

I went to this show last night (Thursday 21st) and thought it was fantastic. Yes, the ending is a bit strange and out of place, but if your in the mood for a party brought on by the great music then it works.
On the whole I thought the show was fresh and bursting with angles attractive to a young and cool audience. I can understand some of the bad reviews on this website, because if you are more a fan of the traditional musical, this is ... read more not necessarily the show for you. In addition to more traditional songs it contains rapping, beatboxing and breakdancing, all things which can look quite cringy, but it this show they have got it spot on. They have obviously enployed actor/singers who are rappers and beatboxers and not just someone who has leart to do it at stage school.
this all makes for a fantasic night out and I hope it draws in lots of people from a generation which aren't particularly used to going to the theatre. Hopefully it will be the show which gets more of a young urban audience interested in the theatre.
it's not one for the blue rinse brigade (who I assume have given it the bad reviews below) but ag reat show to take your spouse and/or teenage family. I'm sure you'll have a great time, just don't take it too seriously. |

| I went to see this brilliant musical with my friend, we are both in our twenties and loved it. Javine has an amazing voice and Havey was the best. He managed to get the audience up on their feet dancing, the atmosphere was good. I would recomend everyone that enjoys a good night out to go and see this, i will be going again. |

| I took my Mum and cousin to see this show and havent stopped singing the play songs since! Great dancing! Great singing! Great entertainment! A must see, really really great musical that willhave you singing and dancing all the way home :) |

Loved this show. Took my teenage boys. Great introduction to musical theatre, they can't wait to go again. Music was fantasic, great band and singers. wonderful dancing, just the type of stuff the kids want.They love Beat Box and have't stopped practising their own nosies since. Great fun for all the family, we were ALL dancing in the ailes. Don't compare it to sophisicated shows like Les Mis.

What a high....!! Theatre was rocking...music was great...dancing was energetic and passionate...loved it!! My daughters 10 and 12 loved it- lots of young people... with the rap, dance off, costumes...they thought it was really hip.

This show was AWFUL! I have seen amatuer shows that were quite obviously better than this.
The acting (on the whole) was poor, almost over-rehearsed in stresses. The script doesn't help this, with lines something along the lines of: "Hey guys, we don't wanna fight with our fists...how about we battle by music!"
The singing (in general) is good, particularly Javine. The performance of the band is terrible with lots ... read more of blatantly clear (and awful) synthesizer sounds. Songs break out for (absolutely, completely) no reason, and all of a sudden theres a policeman and a transvestite on stage!
Coming back to the set...just as random. Its like they've attempted to make them interesting by spending as much as possible on them and cramming hundreds into one show.
This show is absolutely ludicrous. The musical is not presented interestingly, you'd be better off turning on your CD player. DON't GO! |

| My wife and I attended tonight's show at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London and were quite disappointed. We'd hoped to experience a charming story set to an urban soundtrack. Instead, we found the cure for insomnia. "Daddy Cool's" choreography was hardly creative, the songs were cliche, and the story was predictible. The cast clearly is talented.
