A Masterful Turn by Jim Brochu Review by: Chuck, Jan 7, 2011 |
| The way that Jim Brochu fumes, moves, emotes, gestures and ponders Zero Mostel is nothing short of masterful. I had seen an excerpt of "Zero" aboard Crystal Cruises in November and just had to see the show again. Brochu earned a well-deserved standing ovation in both venues. |

Masterful! Review by: ej, Sep 28, 2010 |
| We are 50 something native New Yorkers and were absolutely mesmerized by this show. Jim Brochu is at the top of his game! Please don't hesitate -- buy your tickets now to see an absolutely wonderful,thought-provoking and memorable performance. We were so glad we bought tickets. And no, you don't have to be Jewish, but it doesn't hurt! Fabulous. |

Review by: UpThe Hudson, Sep 6, 2010 |
Zero Hour is not simply a matter of Jim Brochu giving a mesmerizing performance; rather it feels so real, it is as if we are in the company of the late, great genius Mostel. We were a family spanning 3 generations and all of us found the one man show excellent. My youngest said she learned a lot and Mostel's angry comedy was often hilarious. We are given a generous bit of enlightening biography and a painful dose of American history The ... read more theater (Actor's Temple) was a surprise, being a real functioning synagogue a fair number of steps up from the street. And the a/c was turned to frigid. But it is conveniently located and the performance was a value with the BBox discount. |

An Important Play Review by: Carol, Aug 23, 2010 |
| Jim Brochu is incredibly good as Zero Mostel. His anger, poignancy, and humor are wonderful. He exposes the McCarthy Era as few can. It's history made personal in the very talented actor. |

Definitely worth seeing! Review by: velvetglove, Apr 15, 2010 |
| A terrific show, better than many things on Broadway. Too little publicity so it is not too well known but definitely worthwhile. Wonderful acting, interesting story about the McCarthy era. Go see it! |

What a wonderful performance, I would see it again Review by: Murphyturkey1, Feb 28, 2010 |
What an energy filled passionate performance. Halfway through the show I suddenly realized I had been sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time. Jim Brochu has the ability to bring every word he speaks to life, and every character he speaks about to life. I enjoyed this journey through him. What an amazing writer and performer he is. This show made the McCarthy era make just a bit more since for someone like me. I felt Zero's pain ... read more and his and his friends' fate. |

This Zero is 100% perfection Review by: Diract 66, Jan 26, 2010 |
| This is an excellent one man show. Jim Brochu gives the best life portrait of Zero Mostel in an intimate off broadway setting. Now I hear it is moving to another theater DR2. If you like Zero Mostel than you must see this show. It gives you an intimate view of his life, set in his art studio, his first love! He tells his life to an interviewer,as the set up for the show. Brochu captures all the Zero looks and mannerisms to perfection. ... read more He not only sounds like him, he looks like him. The most dramatic part of the play is the Black List and what it did to the actors and writers, mostly Jewish, that Zero knew and his personal experience with the McCarthy hearings. But before you get to this point and after this point there is quite a lot of humor. If you remember Zero Mostel, you must see this great performance by Jim Brochu now, or definitely when it opens again in March at DR2, near Union Square. |

See ZERO HOUR before It Ends On Jan. 31 Review by: Lou, Jan 9, 2010 |
| Went back to see ZERO HOUR a second time and enjoyed it even more this time. Jim Brochu gives one of the best performances of the season. ZERO HOUR is a history lesson with a strong message, especially for those who did not live through the 1950s. Just go!!! |

A Memorable Magical Theatrical Evening - A Must See!! Review by: Frequent NY theater-goer, Dec 6, 2009 |
"Zero Hour" is a FABULOUS play with a brilliant script and genius actor who seems to channel every aspect of Zero Mostel's complex and fascinating personality. This is a gem of a theater piece. It's funny, serious, and viscerally moving. I will be going back again and again with friends. Zero has a limited run through January, so RUN, RUN, RUN to see it! You won't be disappointed. This is a play that should run forever!
