Best on Broadway !!!! Review by: merlin53, Apr 14, 2011 |
| Saw Wicked for the 8th time at a 4/6/11 matinee as a b'day gift to myself. Still amazes me everytime! Cast, music production first rate.Teal a fantastic Elphaba as was Amanda (us)as Glinda ! Sat in the 4th row center orchestra and thought some of the illusion would suffer. NOT SO ! If anything the production was more impactful especially the orchestra. To those with negative reviews....I don't get it. Wicked has more to offer than most shows on ... read more B'way today. I've been to over 25 musicals in the past five years and the only show that comes close entertainment wise is "The Phantom of the Opera".Personal tastes aside, I can't imagine what disappoints. Some people will just never enjoy themselves. I suggest warm milk, flannel pj's, a novel by Proust, and bedtime at 8:00 p.m. To all others go and enjoy the most entertaining show on B'way. |

No doubt about it. Review by: MJ, Apr 4, 2011 |
it may not be everyone's taste, but i for one, LOVEEEEEEED IT. I've watched this twice within a year and i'm still very much blown away. I love how moving the songs are, and Elphaba really managed to express all the emotions in the songs... Watched it recently with Teal Wicks as Elphie... ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY AMAZING. This show touches the heart... and soul. I watched alone the first time, i left the show feeling bittersweet,... read more, wishing i had someone to share that awesome experience i had in that musical... Brought my visiting friend to the show last month. He's not a musical guy, but he was in loveeeee. JUST PLAIN AMAZING. |

BEST SHOW EVER Review by: Sam, Feb 4, 2011 |
| This was BY FAR the BEST musical I have EVER seen! The story, the production, the singing, the acting, the humor, the lighting, it's all SO exciting! I loved it so much I just rhymed! The high point is definitely the end of the first act, so I actually got a little nervous that that was the end. I didn't want it to end! Anyway GO SEE IT! Or you are missing out big time. |

no no Review by: jcal, Jan 29, 2011 |
| pretty boring. the set/visuals were nice...but the rest, yawn. i live in nyc and had family in from out of town. i could tell even they were bored. at least it was cold and snowy out. still though, a pretty expensive nap! i wish i read these reviews before i bought the tickets. a long nice brunch would have been a much more fun way to spend a saturday afternoon. |

not worth the hype Review by: New Yorker, Jan 8, 2011 |
| This show was a bit disappointing. Music and acting were average . There is so much hype about this show- it has one or two crowd pleasing scenes- but that is about it. The acting is kind of corny and I was embarrassed that I spent over $500.00 on tickets for my family of four. I live in NY and have seen many shows- this show is like many on broadway these days-with typical character voices (they are all beginning to sound same) although the ... read more main character has a very good voice and does a nice job with defying gravity - the final scene of the first act. |

Mandy Gonzalez worth the price! Review by: clstebs, Nov 14, 2010 |
| Saw Wicked this weekend with several of my family members. Mandy Gonzalez as Elphaba was incredible and a must see, even for a repeat viewer. There was a cover for Glinda. Etai BenShlomo did a really wonderful performance as Boq. Over all a really fine performance but Many Gonzalez is most definitely worth going to see in this one! |

A wicked way to loose 2h and $200 bucks Review by: MOMO, Nov 13, 2010 |
| I had great expectations for this show.. all those 5 stars reviews looked almost too good to be true, and they were. In reality the show is not child-friendly but rather child-oriented, you'll love it if you are (or have the mind of) a 9 year old. The story line is flat and boring, it feels like a mashup of a high school musical, harry potter and grease..but a little less engaging. The performances are good, music is ok, and scenic design ... read more is spectacular (but that's not enough to compensate for the deficiencies). Carry some cash because you'll need a good drink to tolerate the full 2 h of cheap drama and predictable jokes. BTW, I'm not a hard to please guy, I just saw the adams family and loved it.. totally blows wicked out of the water. |

Absolutely forgettable Review by: 123knez, Oct 30, 2010 |
I've been to plenty of shows but this was the first that I would have walked out of if I had come alone. The cast was fantastically talented but there is no redeeming qualities to the music at all. Nobody I have met can remember a single tune. Musically it was hard to listen to such an unorganized, unoriginal score. It reminded me of the composing style used for early 1980's television like the "Ateam" or "the Greatest American ... read more hero" with a bit of generic broadway structure. If I could get my money back , I would.

| Went with girlfriends to see this show. The vocals and cast were amazing. We did see U/S for Glenda, but her range was beautiful I have to admit, I would have loved it much more with original casting, but it was a tremendous show with great vocal and casting talent. A must see. |

Wow, what a voice! Review by: Andrew, Sep 6, 2010 |
My wife and i went to see Wicked a few nights ago. We were only in Manhattan for 2 nights and one of the the reasons for going was to see this show. We payed full price for our excellent seats and do not regret it. When Defying Gravity was sung I felt the vocal in my chest...yes it was that powerful. Many of the performances were fantastic but I was blown away by the woman playing Elphaba-she was simply incerdible. Do not hesitate-see this ... read more show. |
