Enjoyed the show thoroughly! Review by: magee, May 12, 2010 |
Such talent - so much fun watching this group interact. Rena Strober is a multitude of characters - each played with such humor. Starts with Tuc Watkins (excellent) and I didn't expect to see her in so many roles. Frenetic Peter Scolari - don't miss him - he was hysterical. Also, great performances by Jimmy Ray Bennett - his one liners had the audience roaring. Christy Romano and Andrea Grano were wonderful ... read more as was Betty Buckley. May I add that the theater has very comfortable seating. |

Humourous escape at the theater Review by: , May 10, 2010 |
| I saw White's Lies in previews and found it very entertaining. It's rare to laugh throughout an entire evening of theater and this play fits the bill. My friend and I laughed out loud at the crazy antics of these misguided characters and their situations. Solid acting by Betty Buckley as well as the entire cast of experienced veterans. Highly recommended for an enjoyable night at the theater. |

Great Situation Comedy Review by: LD, May 9, 2010 |
White's Lie is basically a situation comedy with an outstanding cast. It seems that Mr. White's little lies just keep getting bigger and soon enough things are entirely out of control. The set is rather clever and switches back and forth between an office and a cafe. Two of the actors have multiple roles. A pleasant way to pass two hours with some good laugh along the way. |

Highly Recommended Review by: DoctorJoeE, May 9, 2010 |
"White's Lies" is well-written, well-directed, and well-acted by well-known actors: Tuc Watkins, star of various soap operas; Betty Buckley, the original Grizabella in "Cats" (the one who made "Memories" famous); and Christy Carlson Romano, star of "Avenue Q" and "Beauty and the Beast"; among others. And it's a very entertaining play. So I was very surprised to see the theater only 1/4 full last Saturday night, only a couple of days into the ... read more run. I'm not sure why that is -- it's a quality production, at a quality venue. (New World Stages is a sort of Multiplex for live theater -- several stages under one roof.) Perhaps the "buzz" just hasn't dispersed yet. But whatever the reason, this is an entertaining, funny play that deserves far better than 50 or 60 patrons on a Saturday night. Highly recommended. |
