This Can Be Good Fun! Review by: Dylan, Aug 22, 2010 |
This can be fun! I agree completely with the review and comments posted by G.S. from 1-2-2010 and I disagree with some of the comments posted by never again from 9-29-2009. If you go understand that this is not something that you should bring children to see. This is an irreverent take on an Italian wedding reception. Complete with drunken, rowdy behaviour by all members of the wedding party. Do not go thinking that you are going to enjoy ... read more dinner. That is part of the joke and it is on you! It is better to get VIP seats because you get to see more and hear more and you get served sooner. But do not go hungry. This is NOT a Dinner Show. Go wanting to laugh and be rowdy and willing to dance to wedding reception music played by a wedding reception band. And be prepared to drink Andre Champagne. I happened to enjoy it. Otherwise you will be unhappy with the overpriced drinks served at the bar! VIP seating will get you a 2nd bottle of the bubbly if you bring back the 1st empty. I did feel very sorry for the 14 member Chinese family who sat all together way in the back and looked like they had absolutely no idea whatsoever about what was going on. Summary- as mentioned by G.S., this "show" can be fun if all you want to do is have fun and you are not hungry. It helps if you have been to a few Italian wedding receptions, especially the one's that have been held at a local Legion Hall. If you go expecting great food and great music and great acting, you will be very disappointed.

Just what we expected Review by: GS, Jan 2, 2010 |
| We just returned from Tony and Tina's wedding. It was cheesy, corny, silly...just the right mixture for an evening of goofy fun. And exactly what we expected. The pasta dinner was fine for what it was...a pasta dinner. Again, what we expected. I would recommend it for folks who just want to have a fun evening. |

Staff is rude and inapropriate Review by: never again, Sep 29, 2009 |
| The food was horrible. The language was inapropriate for the 10 yr old sitting next to us. The "VIP" treatment was Andre champagne that probably got some of us sick. The staff continually ignored our requests to speak to a manager after the bartender cursed one of our party out. Would NEVER reccomend this to any group. |

Save Your Money - Pass on this one Review by: Deaf and Numb, Aug 28, 2009 |
This show is like a R-rated movie for teenagers with stupid plot line making fun of a working class Italian wedding. The sound system was awful and much too loud. I asked them to turn it down - nothing doing. My ears are still ringing a two weeks later. This show is the worst I have ever seen. The acting was weak, the musicians were bad, the food would horrible, and you had to purchase your own water or other drinks.

A Painful Experience Review by: Belle, Apr 4, 2009 |
UGH! This was absolutely the worst show I have ever endured. The acting was terrible, the music was awful, the establishment (Sofia's in NYC) was dirty, and the food would have been turned away from a soup kitchen. Save yourself - there are a lot better ways to spend $87 in New York that on this awful show. |

Bring a group of friends, tell them it's a real wedding! Review by: Jasmin, Dec 5, 2008 |
| I took 5 family members with me and I lied to 4 of them saying it was a client of mine getting married. The weird thing is I never approached the actors to ask them to lie, and the usher came up to me and talked to me as if he knew me forever which made this lie believeable. The groom hugged me saying he was so happy making this lie even more believeable and the mother of the groom talked with me all night. My son age 7,danced with the bride and ... read more stripper. This whole thing was great because my cousin never wants to go to shows. Though she likes weddings. So I lied. She had a blast till she found out at the end it was a lie. My son didn't speak to me for a day because he was embarased that he got so into this show thinking it was real. But they had such a great time I took pictures. The food was ok, salad, pasta, bread, a little wine and cake. And we have a memory that lasts a lifetime. I think it's better to go in groups to see this. By the way, my cousin's daughter who also came with us, went with a bunch of friends a month later and told her boyfriend it was a real wedding. He believed it and interacted with the actors so much he bonded with them, and almost got into a fist fight defending the actors. That's when she had to stop him to tell the truth. He was so furious! Hahaha! We still laugh about it. |

great interactive experience! Review by: mel143, Jun 14, 2008 |
I absolutely LOVED this show and I'm surprised to read that many of the posted reviews did not enjoy it. I attended with a small group, including my 4 year old daughter. The actors were constantly in character and showered my daughter with attention. The best man and bridesmaid danced with her ALL night long. There was always something going on, you couldn't possibly catch everything. We are considering going again because we had such a ... read more great time! I can imagine having a completely different experience each time because the whole show is based on your interactions with the cast. The dinner was nothing special, but we did not go for the food. As others have said, a small salad and 2 different kinds of pasta served in a serving line/buffet style. Cake was a little small and no utensils are served with it, so you have to "eat with your hands" if you want to eat it. Small flaws to a great experience. Aside from a few sexual references which my daughter didn't even pick up on, it was a great show for her. She was engaged and entertained the entire time!! |

Good show for lots of laughs Review by: , Feb 8, 2008 |
| Loved the show! We went with a group of six and we laughed so hard our sides were aching. We got right into the show and some of us participated, which always makes you roar. Bring a group, you'll love it too!!! Food was good, but you get a small amount. Eat before you go! |

Would not recommend this show to anyone - sorry ! Disappointing. Review by: Bridesmaid, Aug 14, 2007 |
| We had a group of 9 gals for a bachelorette party. We were extremely disappointed in this show. We paid for VIP and got $3.00 bottle of Andre champagne. The food was scarce and not very good. We also thought they would do more for the bride-to-be and they didn't acknowledge them at all. It is in a basement of a building. Very crammed. |

Rubbish rip-off! Review by: Nycj1, Aug 1, 2007 |
| Went to see this with 3 other friends expecting a fun nights entertainment with dinner included- was sadly dissappointed. The food was rubbish, measly salad, cheap pasta in sauce, tiny glass of "champagne". The acting was terrible too and the whole thing was only an an hour and a half long, including the wedding ceremany which lasted 10 minutes and wasn't funny. For almost $100, this is the biggest rip-off in NYC. |

Tony and Tinas' Wedding "NIGHTMARE" Review by: SDW, Jul 22, 2007 |
| This was one of my first shows and I do not Plan on seeing one like this again...The Wedding was Loud and the Actors were Horrible...No interaction with the Bride or Groom...They Never even came around to the table...All They did was try to have sex the whole show...Got Kinda Boring...The Whole show was based on Sex...Some even started taking off their Clothing and walked to each table to do a sexual dance with out shirts and Danced on top ... read more of some tables...Very Tacky Show and Extremely Loud...Forget about trying to enjoy some of your dinner...The Food was nothing great...The Waitress for our table was The Best Part of Our Show...She was Very Nice...If you wanted to dance you felt like you were intruding on The Actors space...I Had a Spliting headache when it was over...Horrible Show...Do Not Go See It... |

Made me Gag Review by: terry, Mar 29, 2007 |
| I attended 2 Broadway shows and this was the last show I attended while visiting New York. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. I have been to good interactive theatre where every actor was miked and there was actually a plot, so I know it can be done. This was the most random, boring thing I have ever seen. My husband went to the restroom right before our table was to go to the limited buffet & almost missed it, cause they whisk the food ... read more away really quickly. They missed our table entirely for the cake, which seemed appropriate for the whole lousy evening. There was almost zero entertainment & they resorted to baudy sexual innuendo to replace talent (of which there was very little demonstrated. |

It had potential. Review by: , Mar 25, 2007 |
| It had the potential to be a good interactive show. The time mingling with the actors was great. Then it went downhill from there. It had no story. Nothing that funny really happened. The wedding dinner was laughable. It was not a meal for a wedding but maybe for prison. We ended up leaving it got so bad. Don't spend the money on this one but save it to see a real show. |

Thumbs Down, Sorry I Went Review by: Mary Beth, Nov 15, 2006 |
| I was very disappointed that I had paid that much, cash and time, for this. Food was less than fair, small servings of salad, pasta(no meat), bread, cake and only one glass of champagne to drink. If you wanted anything else, even water, you had to buy it. They even served us the top of the wedding cake with absolutely nothing to eat it with. The first hour was OK but after that it was just a bunch of drunk people, one showing her back side ... read more in her see through panties. I'm not a prude nor a teetotaler but I did not enjoy this. |
