Wonderful, Just Wonderful! Review by: anita, Feb 22, 2009 |
Wonderful Show Actors did a fantastic job. The music is beautiful, better than other Broadway's shows right now. This show should stay on Broadway. Tickets cost money. Yes, of course, but please, enjoy your life. It is toooooo short. |

Great show, too bad it's closing Review by: , Feb 22, 2009 |
| This was an outstanding show. The acting was flawless, the story line thought provoking, funny and sad. Too bad the critics have so much power to close a show that everyone who viewed the show thought it was fantastic. |

Great Show, see it! Review by: Sal, Feb 21, 2009 |
| The Story of my Life is a really great musical. I really loved it! It isn't my favorite, but it was really good. If you expect Broadway razzle-dazzle, like Wicked, I wouldn't recommend it. It only has two characters, but they're great. The show is about one man trying to write a eulogy for his best friend who died. While he's trying to write, the audience sees how they became friends and their experience together. I wouldn't bring kids,... read more, because there are a few strong words and they wouldn't be interested or follow along. It's a really good show. I wouldn't put this musical at the top of your list of shows you see, but if you get a chance, go see it. |

Do not miss this show! Review by David Feb.18th. Review by: , Feb 19, 2009 |
| A friend and I got tickets to this show last minute based upon the reviews here. We were not disappointed. From the minute the show begins you are rivited to the stage by the two wonderful performances of Will Chase and Malcom Gets. You are drawn in to the story of two longtime friends and how the choices made during the course of their lives affect their relationship. The music seamlessly keeps the story moving and wonderfully conveys the ... read more emotions(both high and low)of the characters. See this show. You will not be sorry! |

A definite must see for everyone! Review by: Shirley, Feb 16, 2009 |
| My son and I had planned on seeing another musical, but when we found that it was SOLD OUT, we set out on a quest to find something else to see. I must admit, I probably would not have gone to see this on my own, but suffice it to say....I AM SO GLAD I DID! From the first moment of the show....I WAS HOOKED. The chemistry between the actors, and the great sensitivity of the story really pulled at the heartstrings. I found myself laughing with ... read more them, crying with them. I felt as if I had known these characters my entire life. What a great, great experience. I am so glad that we happened upon it. I hope it runs for a long, long time. Would definitely see again and again. |

Memorable songs, powerful story and (most importantly) a sublime chemistry in "The Story of My Life" Review by: Jeffrey Seguritan, Feb 15, 2009 |
| "The Story of My Life" unfolds as a story-within-a-story that renders a heartfelt resonance and depth to the very special bond between two best friends. One friend Thomas Weaver (played by William Chase) must sadly write the eulogy of the other, Alvin Kelby (played by Malcolm Gets), and this struggle to articulate this friendship leads the audience on a poignant journey of how it started and what ultimately happened. The set is bare but soon ... read more reveals itself as the pure potential of a blank slate. The lyrics and score are touching and refreshingly memorable, infusing an enthusiastic joie de vivre to the narrative arc. The chemistry between Thomas and Alvin is transcendent, inviting the audience to believe in the innocence and immortality that the musical stakes its roots in, mainly Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life". This 90-minute breath of fresh air will leave you both tearful and jocund, cozy yet stunned that you might have seen one of the best musicals staged in a while (even after seeing "In The Heights" last weekend). |

Such a delight! Review by: Elke, Feb 10, 2009 |
| This is hands down my favorite new musical of this season. Will Chase and Malcolm Gets both give jawdropping performances, the songs are so genuine and beautiful and the story moved me to tears. I will be seeing this many more times. |

The Story of My Life is a show worth seeing! Review by: Musical theatre lover, Feb 10, 2009 |
I went to see The Story of My Life last week, and it was wonderful! It's the story of a life-long friendship in all its ups and downs, and make a point that in reflecting on our lives, they seem to be made up of a number of stories or moments that stay with us. It felt more like a typical Broadway play than a musical--an intimate, intelligent, character-driven piece with depth and a great story, as well as minimalist set and staging. (In ... read more fact, I think this is THE musical for people who say they don't like musicals and only go to plays) It was alternately funny, touching, and at times heart-breaking. Although it feels like a play, it is absolutely a musical (not a play with music) and the gorgeous and wonderfully-complex score is woven seamlessly into the show. I wish Boradway would take moe chances with original shows like this one! |

Fabulous show! Review by: Dodie, Feb 9, 2009 |
| I hadn't read anything about the show so I was unprepared to be so pleasantly surprised and entertained. This was a humorous, poignant and very moving play and I would highly recommend to everyone. "Tom's" voice was beautiful. Beautifully told story of a truly deep friendship. |

Agree Review by: Terry, Feb 8, 2009 |
| I have to agree with the last poster, and I thought the same thing - it should be in a smaller theater, it is so worth seeing. I also think that the economy and price will be a detriment to this show, and that would be too bad. |

A nice show but it belongs in a small off Broadway theater Review by: Joe, Feb 8, 2009 |
| Mr. Chase and Mr. Gets do a wonderful job in this 90 minute, often touching, two person show about a man giving his best friends eulogy. I enjoyed it very much but think it would run longer and be much more heart felt in a smaller, intimate, off Broadway theater. With a top ticket price of $110.00, in this economy, I think it may have trouble staying open. |
