Drop what your doing a see The Screwtape letters Review by: Samual B. , Jun 7, 2010 |
| I thought The Screwtape Letters was an extremely smart and funny adaptation of the C.S Lewis novel. I've seen the show twice now and honestly feel it's the best Off-Broadway production playing in NYC. Max McLean is wonderful and Karen Wight does a fantasic job playing Toadpipe. I recommend the show to anyone loooking for a insightful sprititual message. Well done! |

The Devil made me do it! Review by: NedRacine, Dec 2, 2007 |
| I found the show overall to be good, but not great. Only two characters: the devil Screwtape and his assistant. This will appeal to people with an interest in religious questions, done in a funny novel way. Sometimes I found myself finding it hard to follow Screwtape's words, but it became better as the play went on. His assistant, a female devil, was fabulous. She only made sounds, and did not speak words, but she was a terrific counterpoint to ... read more Screwtape's monologues. The staging and costuming was great, esp. for the assistant. Lighting was very effective. And by the way, the Church that it is played in is an experience in itself. Go see it if you can. |
