LOVED IT!!! Review by: acrins, Nov 20, 2006 |
| FANTASTIC! i knew i was going to love it three minutes into the show. it was so compelling and well done. cynthia nyxon gave an amazing performance. if by some grace of god this show transfers to broadway, she'll take the tony for it. she was flawless. in regards to what a reviewer wrote below, her dialect coach should be applauded. she had a very refined scottish accent. contrary to popular belief scottish accents are not always gritty and hard ... read more to understand. i thought the nude scene was handled very tastefully. you were eased into it. i wasn't bothered by it at all. go see this show while you can. you will not be dissapointed! |

JEAN BRODIE Review by: RALPHIE, Oct 11, 2006 |
| The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is a play where each and every character is fully visualized in the writing, fully brought out by actors and actresses into very real people; all coming together into a complex and multi-sided view of a "progressive" teacher and her influence on her students, her school, her lover, and herself. I can't express enough praise for the excellence of this play; particularly when compared ... read more to the disgraceful child-abuse-advocating, gay agenda (and Tony winning) History Boys. Like comparing a diamond (Brodie) to dog food (History Boys). Be aware of the warning posted at the entrance: Play contains Nudity and Smoking. OhMyGosh! And they do both at the same time. I was surprised the nudity was both prolonged and fully lighted. But what you remember will be the brilliantly written Murial Spark story, and the excellence of the play. This play, set in 1931, will instruct people how to take you down. Extremely recommended; |

| I left the theater feeling greatly moved. The play started out a bit slow but everything came together in the second act which exploded with passion by all members of the cast. I felt this is what real theater is all about. Thank you. |

Very good drama. Review by: , Sep 28, 2006 |
This is a very good drama, albeit a bit long (almost 2-3/4 hours). The 2nd act was much better than the first, for me anyway.
Excellent performances, food for thought.
Be advised - there is total female nudity. |
