DON'T MISS THE HAUNTING! Review by: Manny, Dec 4, 2006 |
This was the scariest show I have ever seen! It's all about storytelling. The actors talk directly to the audience. The theater is dark and when the music starts to play, you know you are being taken for a ride into the unknown. All the actors were great in their various roles as they brought to life the history of the old building. And, it's a strange history all right. Clyde Baldo's old Jewish landlord, Meyer, was played to perfection. ... read more Karyn Plonsky, as the vaudevillian mystic carrying on a seance during a stormy night, was truly frightening. Dan Almekinder's story about a prostitute seeing a ghost in the building a hundred years ago sent shivers up my spine. And, Frank Zilinyi's sad portrait of the original Irish landlord brought tears to my eyes. But, the real genius behind the whole production is Dan Bianchi who wrote, directed and also designed the great music and sound effects. I don't know when I had a more enjoyable night in the theater!
