Not that good Review by: , Nov 7, 2007 |
| The Farnsworth Invention just wasn't that good. Don't expect to get a historically accurate play because it is not...and don't expect to get a thrilling dramatic play because that it is not either. The play has Sorkins writing style all over it but in this case it just doesn't work. |

Energetic and Humorous Look at the Invention of Television Review by: Ted, Nov 1, 2007 |
| This energetic and exciting evening is well acted particularly by newcomer Jimmi Simpson as Farnsworth and well directed by Des McNuff. The writing is pure Sorkin and you hear his voice in every character but he is clever and intelligent and thats not a bad thing. It is a very tight two hours with a solid performance by Hank Azaria and a wonderful debut by a young actress Alexandra Wilson who makes the part of Farnsworth wife the most ... read more honest and moving character in the play. I really enjoyed this impression of history! Great original music by Aaron Sorkin too! |

Very good but curb the use of the word f@#*K - Review by: rowE, Oct 31, 2007 |
| Four of us went on Friday, OCt. 26th. We all thought that the play was well written, acted and very good. But, I have to say that the repetitive use of the word fuck and with various endings, was a useless bit of contrivance, dialogue, whatever. ALso, there had to be more acting from the Sarnoff character - he was just a narrator is some ways. But, We all liked it because it was written with intelligence and empathy. |

History Lesson Review by: TgdTC, Oct 29, 2007 |
| A fascinating NEW AMERICAN play. Although I suspect much is fictionalized, this is a thoroughly entertaining docu-drama about a subject I doubt many know anything about. The invention of television. Fast moving, with many characters and much history this show is beautifully directed by Des McAnuf. Most likely, you will leave the theatre wanting to learn more about the subject. I attended this show with several others and everyone was ... read more thoroughly entertained. Go see it! |

SNOOOOOZE!!!-Fest 2007 Review by: The Reaper, Oct 25, 2007 |
| No emotion. No Character Development. The robotic monotone of the era stretched thinly over several hours of history channel-esque monotony. Do yourself a favor read a book about the invention of television and save the hundreds of dollars you might waste to tell your friends on a cell phone during intermission that that you're watching one of the guys from the Simpsons in a brodway play. Pure boring nasal pseudo educational torture. For the ... read more first time in fifteen years I left a broadway play during the intermisission and never regretted the decision. In a word...SNOOOOZE! |

| It lacked something, but I cant put my finger on it. However, the acting was pretty good. My date and I actually discussed leaving during intermission. It was a little long. I dont see it on Broadway very long. |

A PLAY FOR ALL SEASONS!! Laugh-enjoy-learn-but may cry at the end. Review by: karenbeth, Oct 23, 2007 |
This well written, acted, and fast moving play kept my wife and me alert throughout the performance. I did indeed enjoy this story. Highly recommended for those who like the non glitzy type tourist plays.
Oh yes, the theater has two sets of restrooms. Very large facilities downstairs and smaller facilities on the second floor level. (Good to know.) |

I saw the first preview. The audience was full and everyone stayed till the finish. The play is interesting. The first act moved faster for me than the second act, but it is worth seeing at discounted prices. |
