One of the best dramatic plays I've ever seen--I'm very grateful. Review by: PENNY, Nov 21, 2010 |
| Excellent production, great acting, direction, writing, sets, music, everything. Especially pertinent for those suffering harrassment/bullying at work or those watching it being done to someone else. Wish they didn't use profanity, though. Tiny theatre, so you you can really appreciate the fine performances. Great show. |

I saw this twice and would love to see it again Review by: lora, Nov 11, 2010 |
I completely enjoyed this show. I thought the entire cast was excellent. Mr Duchovny does a fine job as John Smith, who is on stage for the entire show. It is a very different type of character for him, but he pulls it off very well. Each of the other three actors play two characters a piece and they also did very well. I found this play to be very thought provoking and found myself involved in quite a few in depth conversations for the next ... read more several days after I saw it. It is still very much in my mind. I love that it has affected me that way This play is very dark, but I would definitely recommend it |

Great job. Review by: SSullivan, Nov 9, 2010 |
| Very good show. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it. I thought it was going to be very dramatic, but it had those comedic points, which I liked. Everyone did a great job! |

A well written and acted show Review by: showgal, Nov 8, 2010 |
I saw The Break of Noon on opening night and thought the show went along very smoothly. It was well acted by all involved. It was a relatively short play. Only one hour and a half with 8 acts. Each actor playing two parts except for David Duchovny. Mr Duchovny was on stage the entire time and has an enormous amount of dialogue. I thought he did a remarkable job and really kept me interested in his character. This is a very powerful show. ... read more Very minimal scenery with a revolving stage. The show was written by Neil LaBute and directed by Jo Bonnye. This was the first La Bute play i've seen and it really made me think. The cast of actors are David Duchonvy, Tracee Chimo, John Earl Jelkes and Amanda Peet. It was amazing to me how well opening night went off. Almost without a hitch. The show opens with a 20 minutes monologue by John/Duchovny which sets things up. David really gets into the part and captivating from start to finish. Amanda Peet plays his wife and his wife's cousin. She is wonderful in both parts but more powerful as the cousin. There is a scene between she and David that is very intense. Tracee Chimo is a stand out as both a talk show host and then a prostitute that comes to John's room. She blew me away. John Earl Jelks plays John's lawyer and then a police detective and he too was wonderful. I really enjoyed this play although i'm not sure it will be every one's cup of tea. It is very dark and heavy. I feel that David as well as the rest of the cast did a teriffic job. If you don't need a show to wrap things up in a neat package then i think you will enjoy this as much as I did I highly recommend this show and would give it 4 stars. |
